Evaluation of variability of the content of alpha and beta acids in Czech bittering hop varieties (Humulus lupulus L.)

Czech bitter varieties were evaluated between 2010 and 2022. Hop displayed an average content of alpha acids 10.24% w/w (Agnus) 13.73% (Gaia). Variability below 15%, proved good stability in all tested bittering hops. All showed a decrease the over period 13 years hop cultivation. The highest beta was determined Gaia (7.30% w/w). In contrast, lowest found Rubín (3.73% new genotypes Uran 5304 had acid 11.56% 10.82% w/w, respectively. 5.47% for genotype it 3.61% w/w. terms alpha/beta ratio, can be divided into three groups. first group included with ratio 2, i.e. Vital, Boomerang Gaia.
